Bayside Seafood Restaurant in Port Lavaca

Food is delicious!! Not sure if the ac was working properly or not. It was a bit warm in there.

Great place to dine in or take out, my fiance had chicken fried rice & egg rolls and I ordered 6 piece shrimp. Btw the egg rolls are the best! Always fresh food. Love this place. And the servings are very large. Enough to eat off of twice.

Worst experience I have ever had. I've been eating seafood my entire life. I came in from out of town, went there for dinner. I had the family size seafood platter. Came with an assortment of seafood. When I began to eat it, it tasted like the food was never cleaned prior to cooking. I instantly started to swell, Iodine. If your gonna cook the seafood, you need to make sure there clean from sand, butterfly your shrimp.. you know CLEAN THEM!!! If I am ever in Port Lavaka again, that is one stop I will never make again.

Over the weekend I stopped by Bayside Restaurant. We were surprised to see that absolutely no employee was wearing a mask. They were only seating one side of the restaurant and that kept tables pretty crowded. The tables were definitely not 6 ft apart. When a customer left, I noticed that the employee did not disinfect the table or chairs occupied; instead it was just slightly wiped with a dirty wet rag that they continued using for other tables. When condiments were brought out, they brought them out in bottles that everyone grabs vs one time use disposable ones. I wish I was making all this up. You're probably wondering why I stayed? Because I started noticing things after the fact that I ordered and felt bad just walking away.

The food was disappointing (dirty rice wasn't very good) and the staff weren't wearing masks.

Very good. We had catfish, shrimp, and chicken fried steak. All was very good and fresh. Friendly staff. Will go again.

Pitiful food. Horrible Calamari. Absolutely nothing good to say about our dining experience. Do Not Go!

The chicken fried steak looked real big but was more crust than meat. Had at least 2 inches of crust all the way around the meat and the meat was the size of a bologna. Never will eat there again

Wouldn’t recommend this place. Service and customer service when paying for the food is horrible. I tried talking to the owner about my experience and she said nothing. I wont return and I don’t recommend anyone else to either

After reading some of the reviews, I reluctantly decided to give Bayside Seafood a try. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food which I would compare to many more expensive seafood joints in Houston. If you are visiting Port Lavaca, give this place a try.

Great service. Food came out quickly and was tasty, but was a little pricey.

The food was well cooked and taste great. My waitress had a beautiful smile sweet voice great attitude and even wrote I love you on the back of my check but I never got her name!

One star deduction for shabby atmosphere, but otherwise solid spot for fresh seafood. Reasonable prices and delicious fried shrimp, and super yummy baked potatoes. The wait staff and management are really friendly, we’ll be back.

Not good food would not recommend to stop and eat there

Pretty good seafood overall. Service is a little slow, but they aren't usually busy during lunch so it's not a critical issue. If you feel like trying other non-seafood items I will say the chicken fried steak is not worth it.

More like Chinese food. Not fresh caught. This in a seafood market town. Two stars because the shrimp was good enough.

Every single time I come to Bayside seafood, I'm a 100% satisfied!! Everyone that works there really goes out of their way to please you. There have been many occasions when I have driven all the way from Houston to Bayside Seafood in Port Lavaca because the food is that good. Food is pretty good. Didnt care for the dirty rice. And very pricey!!

Decided to have an oyster poyboy today. I said to the waitress I was craving an overstuffed poyboy. It came out and was good. The bill came in and I was charged 2.50 per every oyster extra. Even though I didn't know I was going to be changed like that or I could have just had two poyboys. For less I do believe. Just pay attention to your billing there.

Very good food. Fried Oysters are Great! Fried and Grilled Shrimp is so good. Grilled Flounder is delicious! Love to eat here.

I eat there on occasion. I tend to order take out more frequently.There is a varied menu for everyone's taste.

Food was good, had the fried seafood. Fried well! Juicy, not dried out. Good size portions. Fair prices. Not many employees but the one that was there was good.

Wouldn't recommend this place if you are on lunch break. Seat me quickly and then 15 minutes pass and noone took drink order or even looked my way.

Our first visit and we were not disappointed with the food. Our server was really trying hard as she seemed new, but did a really good job today. We're going to be back.

Delicious but on the costly side. Waitress was very courteous and came to our table to check if we needed anything else. We had 14 people and she good a very good job caring for our needs.

We ate here on a recommendation from someone who grew up in Port Lavaca. They were right. Really good seafood. The place looked closed when we got there, but we walked in and were promptly seated. Our server was very friendly and informative about the menu. We really enjoyed our food, and the price was on par with other seafood restaurants. If we're ever in the area again we will definitely eat here again.

Our food was the best seafood we've had in a very long time. The service was friendly and professional. Our second trip was equally good and the server acted like a long lost friend. Grateful to have moved into the area for a while and continued visits are guaranteed.

Got it to go! Everything needed was included. Enjoyed it across the street at the park. Great view of the beach and bay!

The fried clams, shrimp, and fries were pretty good. The stuffed crab was okay, yet it was a bit sweet. Overall, it wasn't bad, but I wouldn't make a special trip.
